Best Driving Game?

The best driving game on the pc is without doubt Richard Burns Rally, One of the few things i will Not be swayed on is that RBR is The Best driving game on the PC bar None. (I am not listening it's the best :D)

After that you have RFactor & LFS tied for first depending on user. I won't bother giving my preference as it's subjective.

For Easier driving games you have the likes of GTR2 & GT Legends etc but you said the best so i don't have to waste any more time on them do i ;)

rFactor is good thanks to all the mods but I can't help feel it lacks polish.

Is RBR that good then? I might pick up a copy see how it compares to real rallying, although my forte is tarmac not the brown stuff. :)

The best Sim for me was TDU, but the bikes in it didnt handle that well and would have prefered it if they smoothed it out a bit.

Favorite rally game was Dirt, but had some frame issues with my 8800gt.

TDU isn't a sim, it isn't even close.

You'd be hard pressed to call it a bloody driving game the cars handle that poorly.

Cant believe no one has mentioned Grand prix legends by papyrus. Ok its based on the F1 67 season and may not be to some peoples taste. Just trying to do a sub 8 minute lap at the old nurburgring takes some beating. Its right up there with RBR in terms of physics and realism. Not bad for a sim that was released in 1998!

I also race in a league most nights and we mainly use GTR2, Race07 and Rfactor. Would love to run LFS more often but we dont get the time.

Malc is dead right :)

I've recently reinstalled RBR yet again, also the RSRBR08 mod.
With this you can choose to run any stage with tarmac, snow, gravel...whatever you fancy at the time.

There's also a few extra cars, my weapon of choice at the moment is the BMW M3 - RWD certainly is a fun challenge.

I thought it handled quite well, the bikes ran like poo on a stick though unfortunately but i enjoyed driving around in my Porche :D.

I like rFactor but I do agree. This game feels too much like a base which you then bolt add-ons to. Doesn't feel like a proper game.

Sim? Nah. :) Arcade really.

Couldn't handle the bikes. :(

And Porsche? When? I never saw no Porsche in game.

Porch on wheels :D

F1 Challenge 99-02 has to be one of my favourite racing games on PC. It's not realistic, but it's great fun. Especially trying to hook up the perfect lap. And despite the game being pretty old it's still got a very healthy mod community. I'd recommend it :D

rFactor with the best mods is as good as anything. Really doesnt matter that the tracks/cars you get with it aren't that great. Bolt on the 1979 F1 mod and you've got one of the best F1 games around, or the PCC2007 mod and you've got a great Porsche GT3 game (IMO better than the Porsches in GTR/GTR2), or Meganes, Clios or Caterhams, whatever takes your fancy, plus there's so many quality tracks available. All the GTR2/GTL tracks have been converted, plus loads of others. Take a look at rfactorcentral.

Agree about RBR, best rally game ever, but the realism means it's quite difficult so it's not for arcade gamers.

TDU drives really weird, just nothing like real cars but then it's not a sim just a fun free roaming arcade game.
