hey all

got a e8500 preordered, but reading some forums etc dont think my evga 680i is going to support it, if it does im gonna have to wait for a new bios so basically im thinking of just gettin a new mobo:

ddr2 (already got 4gb corsair dominator 6400)
hopefully want to o/c to about 4.3ghz (is ram good enough?)

lookin at the asus p5k premium, but what do you all think?

thanks

yeh could do, havnt even registered yet, is it too late?

do you have to send your mobo back first?

edit, cant do that, didnt register within 90days of purchase, had it nearly a year :P

Did you also know that you dont get the 10 year warranty if you don't register within 30 days ? you just get a standard 1 year but by european law they are obliged to give you more luckily.
I am sure you could sell the 680i for a good price as it's a popular sought after board and make a cost efficient upgrade though.

hmm no didnt know about the warranty, but i rarely keep a board for more than a year anyway

Just found out that my board is an old revision and wont support 45nm anyway :( so gonna get a p35 board i think (asus p5k) be nice to wait for x48 but ddr3 ram is so expensive atm

prolly keep my 680i and e6600, build another pc sometime
