Whos doing the best exchange rate at the mo? GBP to Euro's? best iv seen is 1.22 which is quite poor really compared to what it used to be.

Went to Thomas Cook the other day 1.24 that is the best i have seen or try Travelex on line they are good. 12 days then i'm off on my jollies.:D

Reminds me I need to get mine sorted, best exchange rate I got last time was from my bank but that was £ to $ - so we'll have to see. I'm off a Friday week :D

It amazes me that people get travel money this way & are still oblivious to the best rates.

If you haven't already, open a Nationwide account and get a visa debit card.

Go on holiday and draw the money out of one of the millions of machines around the world and get the best rate possible. Nationwide don't charge you for it - and Visa give the best rate from my travels in the past.

Here's an brief example from someone else - and check Moneysaving expert if you want more proof.

If you check the Visa website (and select the 0% fee for foreign transactions) - you will see that it's currently 1.27 to every £.

It saves you buying and carrying a whole pile of cash and on my last jaunt I saved over £150 compared to the others we went on hols with.

Travelex online are almost always the best of the major players and very convenient

Obviously not convenient enough seeing as there is no where local to pick it up, also no pick up points in Manchester airport which is where I am flying from!

Pound has been hammered by the Euro recently, so I think you have to accept it :D
