Best extended warranty provider....

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can recommend any good extended warranty providers. I only ask as in the past if I've bought something from a high street store (not sure if I can mention them) and gone with their extended warranty I've often heard people say that the same level of cover can be had elsewhere online for much cheaper.

I've just bought a brand new digital camera (after having my old on replaced under an instant replacement extended warranty) and i'm looking for the best place to get some extended warranty on it that will cover it against accidental damage etc instead of going for the shop bought offering.

You don't want a warranty for accidental damage, you want insurance.

Phone whoever does your home contents insurance and see if they'll add it.

Sorry, maybe it is insurance, I was just using the term warranty as that is what it's been referred to in the past when bought from a high street store.

Pretty sure our home insurance does already cover stuff like this but the excess is more than we'd pay to insure it separately. Hence why I'm looking for somewhere to get the extended warranty/insurance for it.

Part of our business sells extended warranty and there are so many exclusions and conditions they aren't worth the money imo.

This is what usually happens:

Warranty customer tries to claim and is given some reason why their claim cannot be honoured.
Customer contacts us as the provider objecting, we check terms of business and 9 times out out of 10 they are trying to claim for something which is stated as covered.
We then liase between the two and help them get the claim registered.
Customer then has to jump through lots of hoops and often has to appeal against a rejected claim, but maybe just maybe might get some money towards his/her loss.

This sector of insurance has to be the most poorly regulated area of the industry. As previously advised try ccovering the item under home insurance.
