Best fan control program and a little help!

I'm looking for a fan control program after reading a post further down the forum I downloaded speed fan and set it up well to the best of my ability (never played with a fan control programme or much to with pc's new to most of it) is speed fan a good programme? Or is there better program's to use?
Also what should be the minimum and max fan speeds for the graphics card and Processer fan? And min max temps?
I currently have the gpu set at min 45c max 60c
Processer at min 45c max 72c (on all four cores)

Gpu fan speed min 30 max 80
Processer min 70 max 100

I have noticed two things:
1: the sound from the Processer fan does not change even when I speed or slow it down And not sure if this is working.
2: the gpu fan is a lot noiser now when I start to play games even though the minimum is below what it was originally sat at(40 when I opened the program) but is normal until I start to play games after 45 I have noticed the fan starts to go from silent to loud.
I just want to make sure Ive done things right and am not damaging anything.
Any help would be much appreciated.
 
Tbh I'm just playing have only had the pc a week (and havent had a pc for many many years)if that and am just trying to set it up to run as cool and reliable as I can and I'm guessing by doing this it's the best way I could be wrong.....

Thanks for the info my Processer on idle sits around 25/30 on idle (all cores)
And the gpu is about 27 idle I think (not at my comp)

What I find weird is the Processer fan even when I manually change the speed in speed fan the rpm does not change and the noise does not change.

Now the gpu is different when I load a game after about a minute the fan speed goes to 45 + I know this as its quiet until 40 then gets noticbly louder when playing games or doing anything the gpu fan never changed speed well certainly not past 40 before i setup speed fan as it was always quiet.
 
I'm not sure it was a pre built system from oc the battlefield War rush system the only thing I changed was upgrade to 8gig ram and the radeon 6850 how easy is this to see? Also thinking about it my top fan in the case isn't registering at all.
With the Processer fan it says it's running at 1024 rpm this changes in small amounts maybe 2-+2 so it's registering something but like I said the speed does not change when u manually change the speed on speed fan.
Is there a standard system in windows that I can see the fans or?
 
How do u mean auto? I take this as not using speed fan and allowing the windows system to regulate or? As before before I played. Is there any viewing info in windows to see the fans,speed and stuff or? Sorry I'm new to all this just trying to learn
 
Is hw monitor a windows programme already on the comp or something I have to download?
When I left it without fan speed (I only did this yesterday) there was no changing in fan speeds when I was playing games so I feel that this program keeps my pc cooler well at least the gpu my main worry is the cooler on the Processer as this never changes speed even when manually changed it doesn't change through speedfan or left alone to windows/bios control and the gpu doesn't with the windows/bios.
Is the gpu not changing speeds because it's set in the bios not to and just to stay constant or.?
And why is my Processer fan incapable of changing speed?
And my case fan doesn't appear on speed fan?

well i checked the plug from the processor fan and its conected but still have no control over the thing!

i guess my case fans(2) are like u said non controllable.

what worries me is i did a prime 95 test for less than 4 mins and the third core was at 81!!! and still rising and the others where very close surely it should not be getting upto this temp and also the processor fan didnt seem to go any faster.
im a little worried now that this is running too hot and the the fan is not responding or isnt up for the task.
im going to remove speed fan i think as its not doing what i wish but i stopped it from working also and it still got those temps!.

am i over worrying or?

non gaming and just doing some internet browsing my cores are running at 3-34
and the graphics card is 33

i have now deleted speedfan also.
i take it under gaming i will never get to the load that prime 95 produces?
just worried im on the limit of being to hot under load on a test that only lasted for about 4 mins when people let that program run for a lot longer periods.
 
Yes I have Core temp programme,hw monitor,and CPU-z I shall do some screen shots.
I have the battlefield rush system:
Antec 300 case
Ocz zs 650w psu
I5 2500k 3.30ghz @4.40ghz (by overclockers)
Intel z68 revision b3 motherboard
8gb of Kingston hyper x ram
500gb hard drive
Radeon 6850 graphics card



I'm in bios now and the:
v-core is set to 1.356v
The ddr15v is set to 1.572
The +12v is set to 12.122v
The vcc3 is set to 3.383
And the vtt is set to 1.064

I've enabled the CPU warning temp to 80c/176f
And enabled the cpu fan fail warning.
Is it worth doing that or?
The CPU smart fan mode is now set to pwm what does that do?
And the CPU smart fan control is set to normal do I need to change that to manual or?
Should I now reinstall speed fan and set it up or just leave it to adjust through the bios?
 
Thank you for the great advice Thekwango and other posters on here,I will post on the cooling section.

I monitored it lastnight whilist playing swtor for about 2hours max temp reached 61-62 so as gaming goes temps are fine it's only when shown stress from prime 95 it seems temps go high.

I spoke to oc and they say the temps are fine and under prime 95 load should sit between 82-87 so will do a test tonight but on second thoughts I think should I just leave it alone as under gaming which I use it for temps are fine....
Seems a little silly to me to just stress the crap out of the CPU just to make sure that at 100percent load it has a low temp when realistically it will probably never have that load under gaming conditions or...
