Hi guys,
I have a Corsair 650D but I'm not happy about the design of the front filter. Its pretty much useless really and has big design flaws.
Firstly, there are big gaps between the chassis and the front panel. This means that there is lots of air sucked in through these gaps and through the fan, by passing the filter into the case.
The other big design flaw is that the dust that the filter does trap is immediately visible as the filter is at the very front of the case. Its stands out a mile next to the deep black brushed alu. Even when hoovered every day it still shows up.
So what I'm planning to do is remove the front filter and just keep the steel mesh there. Then put the filters directly onto my two front 120mm fans.
Question is, will this affect the cooling, with the filter being directly in front of the fan?
Also, what are the better filters to use? The fine steel/ plastic mesh type, or the sponge type filters (used on Akasa eclipse, lian li pc7 etc)?
TIA
