Best fans - Noise vs. Performance

Yate Loon 140mm - D14SH-12

these would give a good price / peformance but would need controling if you wanted them to be quiet as at 50db when on full speed there loud

Viper fans are excellent which have already been mentioned. had a look at Xigmatek crystals? They are slightly louder but provide more airflow (63cfm) and arguably better looking.

Had a few of theese on a cpu cooler a while back, ran both via PWM with a splitter cable, very quiet yet good airflow, cooler was a TRUE black which has very tight fin spacing. Personally for case fans though, yate loons at 5 quid a pop are hard to beat for performance/value.

Cheers! I want something quieter than the fans in my lian li v351, which im guessing are already pretty good so thought id spend a tad more given i only have space for 2 fans

Lots of nice suggestions there, thanks guys.
The BeQuiet fans look nice, but again, are not cheap. Guess that's the trade off you're always going to get.
Xigmatek Crystals and Slipstreams are also quite interesting. Although if the Slipstreams are loud at full speed then I'm not sure about them.

I believe my fan controller will work with 4-pin PWM fans. Are any of the sugested fans PWM other than the Akasas?
