I heard this on the radio the other day, most who phoned in says Missy Elliot is the best female rapper without doubt!. Well i dont agree with that, i think missy get a lot of vote as she makes rap aimed at the charts etc. Lyrically she sucks but her production is tight.
Here is my own rating/list of the best ever

1 Foxy Brown
Whenever i listen to her rapping, her flow is very smooth and sounds like she dosent even breathe as she spits her words, if you dont believe me go and listen the to track tittled "Can i take you home tonight Ft Blackstreet"

2 Remmy Martins
I think she holds grounds with her lyrical prowness too listen to the four bar rap she made in "Ante up Ft MOP, Busta"

3 Queen Latifah

Those are the three in my opinion who are no doubt one of the best ever, i wouldnt consider Lil Kim, missy, Queen penn and the rest.

Who is you best ever or who are those you will consider one of the top cat in the game?

She’s also endured her first rap battles. So what insults do other emcees throw at her? “Oh, it’s like, ‘Yo, girl, where you from? You got this funny accent going on.’ Wait!” Aitken pauses. “That’s quite a good line. Let me write that down!” And what does she throw back? “Yo, I may be a cutie, but I’m not exactly fruity. I may look like Britney, but you could never kill me. I may be just a girl, but let me tell you I can swirl.”

Trina!

not only is she fit as ****, but she can only rap with the best of em, and has done some straight up sweet tunes.

missy used to be fantastic, but now her stuff is little more than chart filling club anthems. Her material IMO topped out with the 'Da Real World' Album, which as far as rap goes is one of the best there is. anything after that is mostly bin fodder.

I dont rate lil' kim at all

To be honest, I think female rappers sound a bit silly. They don't seem to have a style of their own, they just try and be like the blokes while resting on the fact that, "hey look, I'm a girl and I'm rapping, isn't this novel?"

I see what you are saying and i agree to some extent, but i still think Foxy Brown defys gravity in that aspect. She's got style, class and in an industry dominated by males, she is well respected as one if the illest.

Laila from Sonic Boom Six :D

About a week ago i heard Lady Sovereign (i think, the little scallie-looking girl  ) with the Ordinary Boys doing a song together. Sounded like a watered-down version of the SB6. Cheeky bar-stewards!! :(
