Roy Jones has been mentioned recently, as have Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Ali.

In your mind who was the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in history?

For my money I consider myself privileged to have been around when I could see Hearns, Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard fighting it out. And I would have to say that my idol of them all would be Ray Leonard.

I know this is always going to be contentious (as Mike Tyson would probably have wooped Ray Leonard if they had ever met in the ring, hence the pound-for-pound proviso) but let's see what happens... :)

I think Lewis is under-rated, if he had been around ten years ago he would probably be considered an all-time great. But you can only beat what's around at the time and he has done that.

Tyson was incredible in his early career, and was set to be the next all-time great but it didn't really happen.

Hagler, well, yeah, Hagler was ******* awesome, in the real sense of the word. But Leonard did him in style. ;)

Rocky Marciano would be one of my choices :)

But he never really had anyone much to fight, a bit like Lennox Lewis.

But let's face it, Holmes would probably have taken Marciano no problem.

Marciano v Foreman would have been an interesting fight! As would Tyson v Marciano.
