Best film series?

Was just watching Indiana Jones : Last Crusade on sky movies and it really is such an amazing film. I would have to say that or the matrix is probs my most favourite film series.

Just wondering what others thought.
 
The Matrix is my all time favourite film, but we all know the second and third are lacking which was a huge shame. I did enjoy them at the cinema though. So i guess i'd have to say LOTR. Started off awesome and got better from there!
 
What about the Die Hard, Austin Powers and Police Academy films? I think my favourite series would be LotR just for it's consistency. I think all three films reach the same high standard which is something that can't be said about all of the Alien, Godfather, Indiana Jones and Star Wars films. Having said that I'd still watch the first two Alien films over any of the others.
 
terminator was a great series, until they made the third one.

my fave one's have already been listed above, so i'll add Mad Max for the fun factor.
 
has to be the beverly hills cop trilogy ;D
usually don't like films like that, but i love the whole american thing, all the riches in beverly hills, and the gritty detroit etc and all the cops : [[[ dunno why !
 
Got to be Star Wars for me. I'm actually starting to really love the prequels, having watched them all a few times recently.....and as somebody who grew up with the originals that's quite an achievement :)

LOTR would be close behind - the work that went into those films was just amazing :eek:
 
The problem with a lot of series is that they start out great (Matrix, Alien, Star Wars) and then go downhill towards the end.

I'd say that LotR is the best overal series.
