best font manager?

how do peeps

i've amassed so many fonts i could really do with a manager to "hibernate" them so they are only active when i want em to be... illustrator takes ages to load with all my fonts so wanna speed that up a bit

any ideas? i was thinking extensis suitcase or summat but i really dont know much about it?

is this better that adobe type manager deluxe?

anyway, i've downloaded the trial to have a play (i can't trial the adobe tmd cuz there aint a trial download and/or its been discontinued i'm not entirely sure) - and i had to (obviously) get rid of all but the windows default fonts from the Fonts folder in Windows... i did this but along with the removed files were the Adobe UI Fonts (which after a bit of research turned out to be ADMUI2.fon and ADMUI3.fon) - so now whenever i start illustrator, i get some error message along the lines of "the Adobe UI Font is missing, blah blah blah" then some fonts within the program look weird...

i looked in the folder where i whacked all the fonts which were originally in the Fonts folder and there they were, so i put em back in the fonts folder but they wont go back in - they are in there physically but the adobe apps still cant see em and my suitcase doesnt acknowledge them... does anyone have any idea what has happened? its proper wierd...
