Best Foo Fighters Album?

Colour and the shape all the way, seems to be the popular choice. Dave Grohl's last "solo" album, with awesome drumming and a great sense of fun throughout the whole thing. Plus it sounds less "corporate" (invented term for sold out, could've just said that...) and more like a rock album

Think thats one of the things i liked so much about the first two albums, Taylor Hawkins in a good drummer but Dave Grohl is superb. Plus I miss Pat Smear, on their first couple of tours when Grohl was still 'finding his feet' as a front man Pat Smear's energy and enthusiasm really carried the band. Saw them at the civic in Wolverhampton on their first tour in about '95, was my first proper gig and after seeing hundreds of bands that show still really stands out.

I'll join the large consensus and say get the colour and the shape its one of the all time great albums!!

I like them all though to be fair. Looking forward to their new album next month :D

The first one - although the production quality was of a pretty amateurish standard. Closely followed by The Color and the Shape, of course. The rest have been completely average in my opinion.

The Colour and the Shape - no contest!

Everlong alone would propell that album above most. But throw in Monkey Wrench, Hey Johnny Park, My Hero and February Stars and it is by far and away their best album and also one of the greatest albums in existance! :D

They've had a few good songs since then - but fallen a long way short of bettering that album.

The first album (self titled) is also good, but has no where near the 'finished' feel to it like the Colour and the Shape does. It is vey much a first album complete with rough edges!

Anyone who says anything other than The Colour and the Shape has no idea what they are talking about.

I'm not a huge Foos fan but that album is pretty damn near perfect.

they're all pretty average rock-by-numbers - but Nothing Left To Lose does it for me. The stuff they've inflicted on us after that sucks very hard. Only other album they've done that I'd listen to again is The Colour and the Shape, but I didn't really like that either

I like them all tbh, my favourites being TINLTL and TCATS (see what i did there ;)), but for purely remanisant (is that a word?) reasons. I think if you like one foo fighters record, you will probably like them all, as their writing style has been pretty constant throughout their existance. If I were to recommend one however, it would be TCATS, it's got the biggest hits on so is a logical choice for a first foos record.

As much as you might hate them, they really are one of the best rock bands around and new rock bands seriously cannot touch them. Shame really.

Colour and the Shape is head and shoulders their best album for me, followed by One By One and the first album. Their latest is probably the worst one they've done - yuk!

If that were the case, opinion would be irrelevant, wouldn't it.
