Hey, so Im looking to buy tonight. Im buying 2 computers for me and my brother. The aim is to be able to run arma on very high settings. Previously had a AMD 6 core piledriver and a GTX 660, so looking for a noticable difference!

I need CPU, RAM, MOBO, GFX Card, and a case (preferably white witha window)

This might be a lot to ask, I built my last computer 3 years ago but any help is appreciated. I can stretch the budget a bit but really would prefer not to.

What resolution? 8Gb might be overkill res dependant. You could get a 290x 2nd hand or a R9 380 (MSI has good mid-plate cooling) and put more toward your CPU and get a K model for unlocked multiplier. Not sure about cases, did u want a quiet case or one with room to fit watercooling?

I would give yourself a bit more time to decide on a build that will last 3 years.

Even at 1080p the 390 beats the GTX970 in some benchmarks. It's the card I'd go for at that price point. For gaming the overclocking potential of the CPU matters less than the pure grunt of a decent GPU. I do agree that a 2nd hand 290X would make an excellent choice, still great cards.

OP - yes I'd consider replacing the PSU. Something in the 550w range from Superflower would be an excellent and reliable unit.
