Best FPS ever...time to have a vote methinks...

I see so much discussion here about the best FPS of all time, i'm interested to know what people really think is the best fps out there :D

So just give the name of your favorite fps game ever, i'll let the thread run for 4/5 days, update a few times a day and add them all up, edit, rank...you know the kinda thing :D

Simple rules...you can only nominate one game...you can't just say COD series or Orange Box...needs to be a single game.

Also it must be FPS style...it can have other elements throughout but must be primarily playable like a FPS game.

One last thing...try and keep it simple...name your game, add a few words if you like but try not to turn it into a discussion please :D

Not too many surprises here...Half Life dominates, no doubt Half Life 1 should be up there, but HL2 @ number 2?!? Really?!? It saddens me that so many people consider it as one of the best fps ever, just shows the limited imaginations we "all" have these days ;)

To everyone who moaned about Deux Ex being there, I gave my reasons in another post, it's considered by most peeps I know on/offline that it's a fps, even if it technically isn't 100% I allowed it just mainly to give HL some competition.

I agree entirely with all your comments but for the purposes of this thread alone, i'll allow Deus Ex...not just because I personally love it but simply due to the fact that the majority of people I know both on and offline class it as a FPS.
 
Just want to say a few things before I update the results for today.

Firstly can't make this a poll as new titles are constantly being added.

Secondly you don't have to pick from what has already been chosen, it's your choice entirely.
