Finished crysis demo which I loved but I hear it gets crappy with the alien stuff so I'm not sure now if I'll get the full game.

So out of LFD2 (is it just repetitive zombie killing?), MW2, RE5, Bioshock, which would be a GREAT game to get stuck into? Or any other FPS you'd recommend?

Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl with Complete 2009 mod.

Then perhaps Far Cry 2, although it is controversial, I love it.Or Riddick Assault on Dark Athena is stellar.

Crysis is still good, as is warhead. They were going for a fiver on EA download site and a tenner on steam recently. I reckon you could pick up a second hand copy from the MM at around £7 too.

You should get warhead if you can, you get crysis wars with it (the retail version at least) and that's good for a few games online.

Bioshock is also very good and worth a play though.

Not an FPS as such, but is a must play if you haven't already - Fallout 3.

Yeah, FC2 was a tad boring in comparison. I barely managed 2 hours before I got totally bored. Shame, because the visuals and concept were good, just ruined by repetitive missions and irritating AI.

What have you already played? If you haven't played half life 2 then play that. Best game ever.

So much choice, lol. Ok, so crysis is still worthwhile by the sound of it.
Fallout 3, yeah, that's one I've considered too.

Put it this way, I'm always looking for something as good as Doom3 and Quake4 which I know some people don't rate but I thought they were awesome games.
That's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Or something like HL2.

You can pick up Crysis Maximum edition for about £12-£13 if you look around, which is Crysis, Warhead and Wars, good value in anyone's book.

L4D2 is decent enough, especially if you've not played the first as it will feel much fresher.

If you liked D3 and Q4 maybe Wolfenstein will appeal?

I watched some gameplay of wolfenstein on youtube and thought it looked excellent but someone told me it's 'ok'. Which surprised me really. Yeah, you're right, I really think I should go for wolfenstein, since I've loved every id software game, and raven software did a great job of Q4.

Well I would describe it as 'ok' too, for much the same reasons I would only describe D3 and Q4 as 'ok', which is why I figured it might appeal :p

Ah, in that case, I think we have a winner. :D Wolfenstein, followed by MW2 maybe.

What's resident evil 5 like? I loved the first three RE games, but never played RE4.

Actually FC2 gets better after the first 2 hours... the middle bit of teh game is a blast - shame the start and ending are weak :| the mission flow that had you pointlessly crisscrossing the map 3x to do the same mission, constant malaria, horrid gun degredation and respawning AI are a real drag, take that away and make the missions a bit more progressive and the game would be 10x better.

I do plan to try and get through it when I have time, but I have lots of better games to play through first. Would be great if there was a mod to improve the things you mentioned.

Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl with Complete 2009 mod.

I second this, got it off steam a while back and it's a great game, very good graphics, gameplay, story and length. Possibly the best SP FPS that I've played, after the Half Life 2 series of course.

I had completed a mission and the game kept crashing as I talk to the guy for the reward, so I decided to kill him instead and loot the reward. :P I was pretty impressed by that (ironically) because I'd never seen that in any other game.

After playing crysis, COD4, left 4 dead etc I keep going back to Battlefield 2. Its such a lovely game with some of the best multiplayer gameplay I have ever experienced. Also, you can usually pick it up for a tenner - which is an absolute steal IMHO.

Similarly to left 4 dead, the game is fun when you just drop into a random server with people you don't know, but when you get a few friends online and in the same squad/team - the game just lights up. More fun than a clown on fire :)
