best free antivirus?

i have a new laptop with norton protection center/antivirus thing installed, not really liking it as it has like 6 processes running at once lol!

Which other antivirus could i use thats free? Ta

I'm currently using:
AVG free. Although it's meant to get quite a bit of slack.

There's also Avast Free Edition, but I didn't like it too much due to constant file checking and HD whirring.

Or you could try the 30 day trial offers for Nod32 and Kaspersky.
