Best FREE antivirus??

What's the best free antivirus available nowadays? I used to use NOD32 but seemed quite basic and so not sure if it is the best bet anymore! :o

Doh- can someone move this to software please!

It's not basic, and its still the best by far. Albeit not free - but then the best solutions aren't free for a reason.
 
I use Avast and have done for years now, I've also ended up getting quite a few mates to use it and it seems to do the job with the minimum of fuss plus has (very) regular updates - almost annoyingly so.
 
avast user here, there are options to disable the plethora of update popups that you will get, but its good to know it is constantly and consistently updated
 
I used to use Avast!, now i use NOD32 on my systems.
But for mates systems i wack AVG on, as its a little bit more user friendly than Avast! imo.

Personally i would never use AVG, many of my friends have had problems with it and it is such a resource hog well i found it to be.
Normally i reccommend Avira, but use Nod32 it is great tbh so easy on resources.

Was just about to come and post a thread on this before seeing this thread! Trying out Avira to replace the hog that is AVG :p

i have never seen a review were nod has come out on top not saying there is a one,ive tried it before and yes it is good but not the best IMO,avira premium for me
