Best Free Firewall?

Having always used a free copy of mcafee firewall I got through AOL, which I am now unable to get, I am in need of a good, free firewall.

So, what do people recommend?

Yip Comodo.

But disable its Defense+ option when installing it. It's just bloody annoying.

After non-brainer usage of SP2 firewall, I hated Comodo. Also didn't like Sunbelt Kerio that is regularly mentioned.

I thought PC Tools was easy to understand, but suspect there is far better out there.

What he said. Comodo is very good. Defence+ is just rubbish.

Comodo is very good and the best choice if you run vista and want a free firewall

but if you run XP consider Online Armour also very good

Personally I use Vista firewall with a hardware firewall router ,why use a free third party firewall when you got a decent Vista firewall.

Yeah - I should mention that I used Comodo in XP but now that I'm using Vista, I just use the Vista firewall.

Depends on what you want, some people want better outbound protection and program control so use third party firewalls
