I have 40 hard drives to ghost from one hard drive i have made ideal with all software needed installed on it. Half of the hard drives are 500GB, the other half 750GB. All are the same model so I need to be able to tell which hard drive is which when they are in the machine for ghosting. Any ideas whats best?

Since when did Acronis become free?
To "ghost" related to Norton Ghost, which isn't a freebie. Maybe I'm behind the times, and that "ghosting" had become a general verb for imaging? Rather like "hoovering", with any vacuum cleaner. Being pedantic
Macrium Reflect Free is excellent. Don't fully understand the other part of the question about telling disks apart - label them with a label/pen? Whatever product you use it is going to be slow process - especially if the image is large.

The WD edition of Acronis is free.

Cool. That's news to me. Is it free for only WD drives, or can it be used on any manufacturer's drives?
