Best free remote access or file share progs

Hi chaps, I am new to the world of remote access.
I would like to when down my chums house or elsewhere get access to my films and music via the internet.
Have read a lot about this but non the wiser, what I would like is a simple app that is easy to use for the thick people of this world (me).
Any hint and tips please.:confused:
 
Teamwiewer?

I am surely aware and do know that teamviewer covers the remote access (and it includes some advanced/technical features for advanced users). I am unsure about the file sharing, I am sure there is a file sharing option back when used it near enough every day/week in 2010/2011. It may have improved significantly since then. I can definitely say that the response times and connection is excellent and stable compared to other interfaces (my personal opinion). I have also used 'Log-me-in Hamachi' and other tools/software for remote access/across internet sharing. I would side with teamviewer because of the easier setup and support available and the options being basic with some advanced tools (options).

Although, me saying this is only my view! Don't agree with me unless you try several of them yourself! :)

I strongly recommend you at least 'try' it out. :) Post back saying your review once done reviewing and trying it! :D
