Best free tool for scanning wireless networks, channels, signal strength?

I have tried network stumbler but can't get it to work?

Depends if you're using Vista as theres a few gadgets to do what you're after. I'd look into getting Network Stumbler working as that is by far the best and easiest to use.

Try right click on netstumbler and select run as administrator.
