I've been using HoTMetaL 4.0 ( ) up until my recent Vista install but now it's dead in the water. Got any suggestions on a decent free WYSIWYG HTML editor? :)

I rather like IMS WebDwarf :)
No substitute for HTML, but pretty idiot proof.
Its also a lot better than some, in that everything is in its own independantly moved frame. (This can cause issues though, swings and roundabouts!)

An interesting suggestion Haircut. :) Does it validate HTML/XHTML/CSS for you? Or allow you to get them validated by the relevant W3C site?

Yup, it certainly has design time validation.
Not sure about getting them validated by the W3C sites, but then you shouldn't really need to if the IDE does its job correctly.

Lovely jubbly. Might try it out later. If I preview the file in Opera I can always right-click and get Opera to pass the page to the W3C validator for me. :)

I myself use NAMO but since the introduction of the 2006 version, I have not bothered upgrading... Sticking to v4.0

However, you have asked for a free one, this is not... It does however let me do HTML and I prefer that ( Cos Im crap at anything else really )

Im going to have a shufty at the others mentioned here though.
