Best FreeView box?

So, I've recently moved from city centre with 150Mb cable internet and TV provided by Virgin to the sticks with 5Mb ADSL and a broken TV aerial.

I'll be replacing the aerial at the weekend but I need a FreeView box to put on the other end.

What's the state of the art these days that doesn't break the bank?

BT's YouView box looks like a possible winner but am I overpaying for something I can get unbranded?

Key features will be being able to record/pause TV with a good EPG and fast performance. No need for internet based extras because I already have an Amazon Fire TV with Kodi etc.

You can just buy Youview boxes, don't need a BT connection for the freeview/recording or catch up.

Sorry, yes, I realise that - we're getting sky BB (free for 12 months - only pay line rental) but was still looking at the YouView box because I realised this.

By getting it "unbranded" I mean "could I just get the last generation humax box and still be happy?" - or is the Humax/BT YouView box actually a worthwhile bit of kit?

Woah - sorry, I'm reading a little more in to this and didn't realise YouView was actually a different standard!

Leaning a little more towards YouView because I've used my dad's BT YouView box and from what I'm reading YouView is trying to create a sort of standard "system" where all the boxes function the same etc - correct me if I'm wrong?

The 7 day scroll back ability of YouView also sounds appealing.

So really I'm asking - what's the best value YouView box? :)
