Best Freeview software?

Hello all,
I've had a HTPC machine running Showshifter (Haupage PCI Nova card) for about a year now and although it does a good job, quite often when I start the software up the picture skips and pixelates. If I re-start the software it then runs fine so I was considering swapping to different software but was unsure whats available?

Any advice.

I have used that in the past, can be a pain to set-up, but once you have got it working it is a great piece of software

Try mediaportal lots of people rate that.

Well I have media portal installed and it hasn't skipped once. Fiddly to set up but very worth.

Could I use MediaPortal as an alternative to the software that came with my TV card?

How do you get the tv planner (EPG) to work with Media Portal? I've spent hours trying to get it to work without any success.
