Best freeware file recovery (undelete) app

Some $%^& have deliberately deleted a whole bunch of stuff of one of a shared laptop and i need to get it back.

Any recommendations on the best freeware tool to recover it, I used to have a really good one but I can’t find the file or remember its name cause it’s been a few years since I’ve used it.

Recuva is ok, I'd pick Testdisk over Recuva though. It's command prompt and not very friendly but it does work very well

TestDisk is fantastic, but it is CLI based. Does partitions and disks as well as single file undeletes.

I've used restoration before, saved my bacon when I deleted some old VS projects, I was able to restore the bulk of the important class files...

I am agree with Brennen, and also wanna tell you that you can do same thing using Kernel for windows data recovery software with helped me last time when i stuck in data lost situation.

Recuva worked a treat 13gb of data recovered. Gotta love contractors with no morals who up and walk out
