Best freeware for taking screenshots?

I have fraps but I find the screens don't give a true likeness of the on-screen action. What do most use here for hi-res screen captures? Thanks.

Print Screen / Alt - Print Screen / Paint.NET, or Snipping Tool. Either way provides native resolution captures.

What game are you trying to screenshot?

I thought most games which disable the printscreen button have a screenshot button somewhere in the control settings (which normally outputs to a certain folder somewhere).

Cant you just press printscreen? Or am I missing the point here?

Set the capture format to PNG in fraps. PNG is lossless and will be 100% same as what you see in game.

If you are using Windows 7, can try to use the Snipping Tool.
