Haha, its not really a question of why, I own it because of the sheer novelty.

I actually prefer apples with the skin on, but you can removed the peeler from it if you wish and just core and slice it.

Unfortunately the tension on the spring and the device itself does not lend itself to grapes, but maybe if you got a really, really big grape....

The only real purpose of the device's peeler is for when you make apple pies and other recipes where the skin is surpless to requirements. As said in an earlier post, you can remove the peeler, and just use it as a corer and slicer, but it ain't as cool!

But surely you need all the fibre from the skin in order to get physichull, physichull?

The UMP and Gustav may just be a little too heavy for me to carry in future if I don't eat the peel. I may have to resort to pistol only and a defib to keep me going!

It may be a bit too flimsy to cope with some potatoes but I'll definately give it a go!
