i wont be playing with a keyboard and mouse untill i have more room for a desk etc.

so for the time being, what would be the best gamea to play with an xbox controller.

pretty much anything except an RTS really, everything else is perfectly playable with a controller, even if it's not the optimum for absolute precision in something like an FPS

i will be playing rts but going to hold off untill i get a desk etc sorted.

what is bf3 like online playing with a controller, does people using a keyboard have the edge?

yes, you'd probably struggle with something like BF3 online but unless you're hung up on topping leaderboards you'll still be able to enjoy it

Single player FPSes are fine but don't waste your time online. Third person action games were built for controllers, thinks like Assassins Creed and Just Cause.

Dirt 2/3. Basicallly the only reason i bought myself a wired Xbox controller.

I don't believe in using a controller for anything other than driving games. But that's just me a i guess :)

I've just purchased a 360 controller for sole use on F1 2012 as I didn't want the expense of buying a half decent wheel. Has transformed the game for me.

Played Witcher 2, all Assassin's creed parts, Racing/ sports games, Ghost reckon, LOTR war in the north, SW force unleashed.

I really don't understand how people play FPS with controller, tried BF3, Metro...impossible to aim

Third person games are going to feel the best, but as others have said mostly any game.

Games I have been playing with controller:
Bastion
GTA IV
Airmech
Red faction Armageddon/Guerrilla
Renegade Ops

Probably some more too, any driving games too.

Racing/Sports/Fighting games.

Never really been a big pad user but I finally opened my XB360 controller a few months back, Assassin's Creed series plays great with it.

Tried playing Just Cause 2 and Space Marine however and it was annoying, I kept finding myself putting it down and picking up the mouse for some sections (aiming), then grabbing it again for H2H combat etc.

My son actually uses a 360 pad for all his PC games, most of the time on games like Gears of War and Left 4 Dead 2 he will come out on top of the scoreboard or very close to the top. I on the other hand tried it and got owned hard using a 360 pad online. As for a game, Dark Souls
