Hi all,

I've got a 35" monitor and a 1070GTX coming later and was wanting ideas of games that will amaze me. I'm thinking survival horror game, like Dead Space 1 or 2, going to try no mans sky tomorrow, I like all games though, apart from FPS, and play PES/NBA on console.

Thanks

Alien Isolation?

I've got a 27" monitor and 970gtx, and have this at its highest level, and I just cannot get how the graphics in this game are rated so highly? I'm not far into it so will give it a go though, as things must get much better visually.

Thanks

Everyone seems to bang on about the visual appeal of Mad Max - I've not tried it, but it's a regular in both the "look at this screenshot" and the "wow, what a fun game" threads.

Depends on the monitor.
My friend and I both have 27" monitors... Mine is 1080p, while his is a 1440 Gsync one that cost more than my car - Even playing Borderlands 2, you can see the difference from a thousand yards out in high wind!! :D

For games - Start with some you already have and know well what they're like on your current screen. That way you'll see the difference immediately.

Not a horror game, but I recall Eve Valyrie being particularly cool on the graphics even with a badly adjusted VR headset!

What I got from the op was that he wants a game that'll test his new setup, something that will be demanding, pref horror/survival. Outlast only ticks the horror aspect.

I could just be reading it wrong.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter looks stunning, and whilst not survival horror, does have a creepy vibe to it. It is in first person, but think walking simulator, not shooter

Thanks everyone.

It is due any minute, and the first game will be Star Wars Battlefront. I'll get back to Ethan Carter(still haven't solved the case), move onto The Witcher 3(my main save vanished, with the help of GOG.com) briefly. Maybe a bit of Mad Max, I might at last get my £10 worth! Evil Within I will complete, on my new setup. Deadspace 2 tonight I think, I've completed 3 in co-op, never completed 1 or 2, is 1 worth playing first?

Anyway, thanks again.

+1

And the Metro redux titles.

The best thing about it for me was it never had a Triple A price tag on release. It looks good, performance is decent too and gameplays okay, I just had a look and although I've not quite completed it Steam shows that I've spent 51 hours on it so it did something right. It's not a challenging game though.
