Hello guys,

I am looking for a new microphone. I have a headset at the moment but I have decided to get a dedicated microphone and headphones instead.

I have looked into the following makes:

Blue Yeti
Razer Sieren

I don't know very much about microphones.
I stream, make videos and also use my microphone for some personal projects. The price cannot be over £150. The audio has to be very nice. I will be getting a pop filter, unless it comes with one.

Ask yourself this. Do I need a condenser microphone? For gaming it pretty much is pointless as you can get microphones which are dirt cheap and decent enough quality for VoIP.

If you are interested in producing videos for youtube or other digital media / music it probably is a good idea to invest in a boom, microphone, shock mount etc.

Blue makes some good microphones the Snowball and Yeti are both very good.

I myself have a Samson C01U and it does the job but you have to remember these microphones will pick up everything.

I would avoid the razer microphone, there are way better microphones out there for half the price.

Just get a cheap one for gaming/voip, the compresson they use will mean an expensive microphone wont make a difference.
