Currently running a 120hz LG monitor with my GTX 680. I have decided that 3D vision is not for me, it's nice for a bit but I find it distracting

Time to invest in a new monitor, preferably one with great colours. Thinking about maybe a 2560x1440 monitor or would this be too much for my GTX 680 and 3.2ghz i7 920?

Anyway here's my budgets

1920x1080 - £320 max

2560x1440 - £550 max

Thanks!

Tempted by the dell u2711...is the anti glare really as bad as people make out? I don't need any protection from sunlight as I barely get any light in my gaming room anyway, so would this monitor be unsuitable?

HP ZR2740w is very good for gaming and colours around £500 or so.

It also has about 12ms or so input lag whereas the U2711 has 30 or so if i remember but i would go for the HP myself for gaming.

If you're prepared to wait a couple of months, the Dell u2713 looks interesting for a 60hz display. Rumour suggests it will be e-ips, so should have good pixel response. Input lag is another matter tho.

dell u2713,did dell state the date release??

Certainly not. Dell haven't even confirmed that this monitor exists. All people are going by are some pictures of a screen on some Chinese forum without stand or anything identifying it as a Dell U2713. From a country where fakery is rife there are a lot of people placing false hope on what could be a phantom product. I certainly hope Dell does release members of the UltraSharp with a glossy screen as I have spent considerable personal effort trying to push that out of them. We will have to wait for anything official though.

The U2713 has been listed at an overseas retailer's website today. No picture though. Hopefully Overclockers gets them in

I have no doubt at all that we will see a U2713 this year. I would really like to see it with a glossy or low haze screen but I am not entirely convinced this is how it will turn out. LG have made some particularly interesting developments on some of their new WLED-backlit panels which I was hoping Dell would make use of this year by achieving extended colour spaces. This is something that is limited by traditional diodes and phosphors and I was expecting the U2713 to incorporate that kind of thing. We shall have to see. :)
