What do you guys thinks the best?

Thanks, Ben

I've got a Revolution MX in the post and I'm going to be ordering myself a Razer eXactMat this week :)

LOL my Logitech G5 works perfectly with it, all you need to do is update the Firmware to 1.2 no problems whatsoever. :)

many people have been reporting problems with lazer mice and icemats..but i dunno what things are like now...ive got a steelpad 5l and its one of the best mousepads ive used..

One thing to add in regards to the Icemat, I have noticed that the PTFE backs of my mouse of started to degrade, this maybe due to the Icemats glass surface. I'm glad I found this thread its making me think of switching mouse mats now.

Icemat 2nd gen - dont say that name to me, useless piece of junk when I used it with my laser mouse (ms natural wireless laser mouse 6000), it worked fine with an ms explorer mouse though. Switched to the everglide titan (cloth mat which seems to be ok) after a month due to the icemat no longer working with my laser mouse which it did when I first got it.

Icemat - Black 2nd Edition, works very well with my Logitech G5 Laser Mouse.
My Icamat II totally doesn't cooperate with my G5....i thought G5's laser tracking system doesn't work with Icemat's unique surface.......is that so? @_@ i've been putting away my icemat for half year now........

Click on this:- Logitech® G5 Laser Mouse Firmware Update - Version: 1.2 - Posted: 01/03/2007

What the actual firmware does is make the Logitech G5 compatable with mousemats which does include the Icemat, the original firmware wasn't compatable when I bought it, I updated to 1.1 as soon as I recieved it, since then their has been a further update which also works fine.

Let me know if this has fixed the problem for you. :)

Problems like this are usually the fault of the mouse manufacturer not the mousemat - the Icemat 2nd Edition would probally outlive any of us in terms of wear & tear afterall its made of glass. :)

wow..... :D that's nice...

Honestly, for gaming, you really want to go with a high performence cloth mat. Cloth mats are pretty much the best thing for mouse precision, smoothness but with very unique control.
So you should be looking at either..
Everglide Titan
QPad
Qpad CT *

* The CT is a cloth pad but has a sort of hybrid plastic/cloth finish on the top, this is the only type of mousepad I'v yet to test and can't confirm if it's better / worse etc. My friends tell me its damn great.

Personally I'm using the everglide titan, it's huge at the standard size and I only use a 1/4 of it, can't praise it enough. The amount of plastic/metal pads I'v gone through is a lot, this cloth stuff doesn't show signs of wear.
