As per title, what are your opinions on todays current gaming mice? I'm looking to get a new one as my beloved razer copperhead now has a nasty big crack on it. I'm looking at the mx revolution and it sounds ideal but i'm a bit apprehensive about it's size, unfortunately you guys havent been talking about it much. I went through page after page looking for all the "spec me a gaming mouse" thread that this place used to be full with but now much there.

Unlike CPU's, GPU's RAM etc theres no benchmarks for mouse's so a lot of it is personal preference i still play with an old MX510 i got about 3 years ago and i still find it amazing and wouldnt ever swap it.

If you can go down to a local computer shop or something and actually try out the mice before buying is probably a good idea, its what i would do, but some of the more popular mice seem to be

Logitech G5
HABU
Razer Copperhead
Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
Razer DeathAdder

Although its all personal preference but if i was to buy a new mouse tommorow i would probably buy the HABU.

Also another thing im not really sure about wireless, in my experiences they've been awful for me but you might like one.

Got an MX518 recently, love it, very comfortable and good for headshotting nubs ;)

I hear the deathadder is a very good optical gaming mouse too.

Deathadder everytime. Precsion of the thing is astounding. You'll be scalping idiots stood out in the open in no time..!!

Actually there is :)

It group tests the most popular ones on the market and rate each mouse in terms of their sensitivity, perfect control & malfunction speed.

And the MX518 seems to be the best performing mouse out there, but at the end of the day it's all down to personal preference because you are the one who are going touch it everyday.

I got a MS Intellimouse Explorer 3 in the end.

Still its not like newer mouses have some uber adavanced technology which makes you aim better, like CPU's 3 years ago to Quad Cores now wheres theres a massive improvement.

I have a Logitech G5 and I find it to be excellent, although I haven't compared it any of the others that are mentioned as I haven't used them.

G7 til it was discontinued :(

Anyone know if there's a decent replacement for the G7 on the way? Mine's pretty much stopped working and I need a new one. Can't go back to wires or not having swappable batteries so that's the Revolution out.

Well get the G5, for gaming wired mouses are the best.
The razer Deathadder is the most precise mouse out there, yet some people prefer the MX518.
For price the MS intellimouse 3.0 is very good.
I would only get a copperhead if you play games left handed ;0
