I currently have a Flexiglow Cyber Snipa which I am planning to replace with a better surface. Is the Ice Mat still generally regarded as the finest mouse pad?

Sorry to ask, but why would you need a mat for a mouse (general question not critisism etc..) ? Ive tested with and without mat for a month and i cant notice any difference, arent desks good enough??

My table surface produces an irritating sensation (some desks are fine though). The current pad I use is OK but I use my mouse a lot and when I game competitively I find that it is limiting my abilty. I play to a high level in certain genres and it is throughly irritating when you make mistakes because of your hardware or accessories.

I've got a glass top desk. A laser mouse doesn't work on it.

But apart from that, tabletops are fine for me.

Thanks to everybody for their help. :)

I read all responses, did a lot of research, and in the end went for a Steelpad L5. Hope it's worth the sky-high price! :p

Good choice mate you wont regret it. Definitely hardcore gamer mat, but i guess thats why i use it :P
