Just upgraded from my Steelpad 4D to 'the wooden desk' in all fairness the pad had it's mileage and became worn due to hardcore gaming.

Razer Mantis Speed here....using it with the razer copperhead.

Nice and smooth. Cloth Mats in my opinion are the best. The provide the perfect resistance, no sweaty or clammy hands/arms. I guess the pores in the table surface are not ideal for a laser mouse. The finer the surface the better the laser can track motion without jumping. I guess. Anyway I use nothing but cloth mats now as the are the bees knees. my two bits worth.

Sorry to ask, but why would you need a mat for a mouse (general question not critisism etc..) ? Ive tested with and without mat for a month and i cant notice any difference, arent desks good enough??

My desk is made out of glass, that why i have a mousemat.

But even for solid opaque desks, i have found a good mouse mat does wonders for tracking.

On a side note, i have a qpad xxxxxl, god does it own .

Works very well with: g7, copperhead, mx1k, g5, various ball mice, mx900 + a few opticals from dell, logitech etc.

Works best with lasers i have found though.

I use one of these. My only complaint is its a little small.

However i have discovered a really neat trick, if you put lipsyl on the mouse feet it makes it really smooth and doesn't seem to rub off for ages.

i have an ixos hubmat(a lot like the flexiglow but with a 4 port usb 2.0 hub in it).Also bought the steelpad S&S with MX510 bundle today for the sum of £14.99.... i thought it was a good deal... is it?

Got my Steelpad 5L today and must say I'm amazed how good it is!

Compared to my previous pad it's leagues ahead! All motion is extremely smooth and comfortable, the surface is massive (if anything too big) and the design is pretty cool too!

I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has the space for it!

depends what you prefer realy, i got an asda cheapo blue cloth one and i find i prefer it to steelpad and such like, i like a bit of friction, slipping and sliding everywhere for me aint good. and i still own @ cod2 with it =] (xfire=iceryno)
