hey guys am looking for the best tft for gaming been looking at a few but rly dont know what am looking for bit of a tft noob
can you guys help thanks

For gaming you're looking for <12ms response time (Try to get the lowest possible) as this will decrease blurring (Known as ghosting). Also a high contrast ratio is advisable.

No idea on company, I have a viewsonic, it's a bit old, but nice.

The 3ms one in the tft section on here looks very nice. Viewsonic are seen as the cream really. Dunno about other companies.

I was looking for an LCD for gaming and eventually decided on the Samsung 960bf. a lot of people also recommend the 930bf. Im well impressed with mine and dont think you would be disappointed with one of those. Both are 4ms responce time. Not supposed to be great for films though but this was n't a problem for me. My PC's for gaming, the TV is for films :)

I can highly reccommend the `Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+ 19" LCD Monitor` http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/lcd19.html which is slightly cheaper, 8ms response with i have found to be great for games, i mostly play FPS (Quake 3 Arena still my favorite) im sure it uses the same sreen as some of the Samsungs (Baddass will know ;)
I asked around as you are doing when i bought the Hyundai last year, and i have not regreated a single day on my choice!!

I really need to get around to filling in the review form, as im sure no one has reviewed my this particular TFT :o

:p it's using the 8ms Samsung TN Film panel as used in loads of other models like the Samsung 913B, Samsung 913B, Samsung 940B, Hyundai B90A, B91A. It's certainly a very well established and widely used panel. It's also the same panel that has been used in the already mentioned Samsung 930BF and 960BF, just with some more aggressive overdrive control applied to the operation of the panel. This inly effects responsiveness of the screen, fundamentally the panel remains the same

INFECTION, for a purely gaming TFT then you cant go wrong with the Samsung 930BF or Viewsonic VX924/VX922. These are arguably the most responsive panels in the whole market, and the samsung models are a very good price too. The 8ms models already mentioned above aren;t a lot different, so if you like the price of models like the L90D+ and 913N then these would also be excellent choices :)

Can I presume that the input lag problem experienced by other users of the bigger widescreen TFTs (Dell) isn't an issue for the Samsung or Viewsonics?

I'm tempted to have a purely gaming TFT and a bigger one for general purpose.

Allright son!!! You wanna bit of paper with that?!?! :D Still hogging all the armour and weapons? :p

Long time no see :) Hope you're doing ok - I'm looking for a new monitor atm too, but waiting on the Dell 2407 as I fancy summit a big bigger...

Speak soon dood :)

so would you recomend going up tyo 30" tft or stick with 19" for gaming and get the 30" for other things like films and so on ?
INFECTION

i think a 30" screen like the 3007WFP is not really best suited to gaming at the moment, To run at native resolution you'd need a monster GFX card for gaming, and the panel technology isn't really there in terms of responsiveness either yet. The 19" market is well saturated by good, fast, heavily overdriven, TN Film based gaming screens and are much more suited i would say for gaming.
