Looking for a graphics card for an SG05 (450w PSU), having trouble deciding what to get as the case is so small.

I'm thinking maybe a 7870, is the extra £40 worth the difference between it and a 7850?

The cards are quite long, and from what I've read anything above 9 to 10 inches is too long. Is the HIS HD 7870 IceQ X the shortest 7870? It measures 10 inches and I'm guessing might not fit. Failing that, what alternatives worth considering would fit into the case for £200 or less?

I think you need to provide the details of the case, or the max length for the GFX card in order for people to help...
I thought I did say that, I guess I should be clearer. The case is an SG05 (which is linked in the first post), I've read that 9 or 10 inches is the maximum length the card can be.

I don't have the case yet, so I can't do any measuring. So the card should ideally be 9 inches or less. If the card has the PCI E power sockets on the top it could probably stretch to having a 10 inch card in there (this is speculation, and I hope someone can tell me if that is there case here). If the connectors are at the end, then I guess 9 inches would be the maximum length as the connectors would extend the length of the card.

I wholeheartedly agree, having been on the wrong end of Powercolor's customer service (or lack thereof).

I suspect the OcUK versions are pretty safe mind, I believe OcUK handle the RMA themselves.

Let me know if I'm on the wrong track, because I have 50 cards spinning around in my head right now confusing me! Lol.

Been researching both of those cards (7870 & 660ti) and both are short enough according to this site HERE. Is there much difference between them in terms of performance?

These are the ones I've whittled it down too, for the moment.

Yeah, I get what you are saying nuzik. I'll give it a go first, and if I can't get it to work, I'll make my brother swap me his coolermaster 120 case ;).
