Hi Guys,

I've been neglecting my PC since I got a couple of consoles and thought it's time to get back into PC gaming seeing as BF3 is on the way :D

Can people recommened what is the best bang for buck card between the £150 - £200 mark?

Appreciated ;)

Tony

It depends on the rest of your system, what PSU you have, does your mobo support xfire / SLi, what res to you game at, etc.

Also remeber buying now for BF3 is wasting your money! When its out whatever you buy now will be MUCH cheaper. The smart money always waits until you NEED the kit! ;)

This makes sense. Although if you're determined to buy now, the best card under £200 is the 560Ti, the best card around £200 is the 6950 OR a GTX480 is your PSU is good enough, try and get one with a custom cooler as well as the stock cards tend to be rather noisy.

Cheers for the replys guys...

I have a 500w Enermax jobby from a while back... will that still cut the mustard with the new cards?

Also running 4gb ddr2 with a q6600 which I can overclock to around 3.6ghz.

500W may not be affluent for a GTX480 if you OC anything.

6950 2G is the best bang for the buck.

I don't think spending £200 for a 1GB card like 560 Ti is worth it now, considering that we are all expecting the upcoming 28nm cards.

I would get a new one. what are the amps on the 12v rail?

I'd go for the MSI TF3 6950

Most people seem to recommend the 6950, especially those which can be unlocked to 6970s. personally though I am holding off until there is more info on the next generation of cards as they could be significantly faster.

6950 and unlock is the way to go!!!

Only negative i can say on the hard is its a little bit louder than my last card, but only really kicks in when gaming so who cares!
