Best golf game for the PC?

I used to play Links 2003 which I thought was a fantastic game. I can't get widescreen working in it however and I'm looking for a more modern golf game with better graphics etc.

Can anyone recommend the best golf game out there at the moment?

Only one I know of (that is regularly updated) is Tiger Woods.

Very good game. Highly polished, multiple swing options and all sorts of stuff to keep you playing for a decade. It can get really boring if you put it on the easier levels.

P.S. I don't think there is a better looking golf game out there than this.

Shot online is also a great online golf game. Not the best graphics but great playability and the fact you can play against others adds so much to the atmosphere and fun.

I'd get the latest version, however if you just want to see what you're instore for (and don't want to pay however much the latest version is) then try the budget version of 2006.

Try ProStroke Golf as well - a bit more detailed and trick to get right that TW. Should be able to pick it up on budget as it wasn't a huge seller as TW has the market sewn up...

Ive had Tiger Woods 05, 06 & 07 and they are all very good, they are not boring or repetitive like you'd imagine a golf game to be.

Tiger Woods 2007 by a country mile although its a lot better on the 360, bear in mind though that 2008 is out on 31 August.

Weirdly I prefer it on the PC due to the fact that you can do the mouse shots (i.e whizz the mouse back and slam it forward) on the higher skill levels as well it can go anywhere if you're not careful! On easier levels it normally goes straight.

TW'05 was the best imo. Had the best career choices and a good balance of a golf game. '06 was a port of the 360 version iirc and wasn't anywhere near as good.

'05 > '07 > 06'

You should play TW 1999, a motion captured golfer and quality gfx, great fun to play for a couple of hours.

Played TW 2004 or 2005 on xbox it was great and nice controls. Got it for pc and it was terrible the controls and interface was totally different and the mouse swings were horrid. I would never ever play a golf game on pc again because of that. Xbox or console only for golf now.

i just dont like tiger woods golf games, they seem to value eye candy over playability and control .... they might be popular games but thats because there isnt much choice these days so i still use Links 2003

Best game i ever played was pga tour golf on the megadrive. Loved that game.
