me and my friend are looking for a golf game we can play online together.
i had the golf club on the ps4 and really liked it but it seems to get bad reviews on steam... what else would you reccomend? we are looking for realistic type ones not arcadey

The Golf Club, the devs pretty much stopped support I believe hence the bad reviews.

But the game is brilliant, 1000's of courses and competitions to create/make/play - the SP career mode is weak but you get to play some nice places. If you want realism them this is as close as we have on PC currently I think.

I don't there is much out there apart from Jack Niclaus Perfect golf which looks like Links 2003 which a gfx upgrade.

yeah think i may get us both golf club as i used to love it on ps4, i have the golf club vr just sucks it doesnt come with the normal game:(

The Golf Club on PC is better than the Xbox One version performance wise. There really isn't any other choices at the moment. Rory Mcilroy sucks as well.

Real shame as you would think there is a market for a decent PC Golf game.

Yeah, TGC is fine on PC now. There were early issues but they seemed to be ironed out now. I've spent 497 hours playing it! :)

TGCTours adds a competitive side to the game as well.

If you are looking for realistic than perfect golf is the one to go for. Putting still needed a bit of work last time i played but they are always improving it.

The bad reviews are from noobs who can't putt or can't get over the fact there is no power meter. The game is excellent IMO.

The Golf Club 2 is coming early next year with a proper career mode planned.

Playing it with my mate get goes mad at the putting "oh in tiger Woods it would show toy exactly where the ball was going, I have no idea if I'm hitting it too hard or soft on this game" followed by me making a 32ft putt while he misses a 6ft lol. He's getting better and moaning less but I think he thought it was going to be easy to play

Yeah I struggled originally coming from the TW series but after a few hours you get the roll correct on putts etc.

Very much looking forward to No2, a good solid career was what was missing from 1.

JNPG for me, been playing it since release and I think the realistic physics element is a must for any real golfers out there.

Yes it's harder to master than other golf games but that's a plus as far as I'm concerned.

I bought Links 2003 from Links Corner it cost $7. It has had a new patch ver 1.07 and works in windows 7,8 and 10.

There is over 700 course available. I am loving it. It has a full career mode which is 100% moddable. I am using a 2000's + legends roster and a full 48 week season calendar based on last years PGA Tour.

Graphically it is fine, but the game just plays so well, like really really well. Some matches have wind, there are 5 different wind settings, there are 4 different control options and as mentioned 100's of courses. Most courses have multiple pin positions and compo's can be from 1-4 rounds with or without a cut and with prize money.

You can also mod the graphics for clothes, shoes, players etc. I also am using a specific set of sounds with commentary from Peter Aliss and David Feherty and custom driver and iron shots.

It worked out of the box and most of the set up time was spent getting all the courses and mods working.

There is online and multiplayer options and plenty of leagues online and offline to join still.

Highly recommend it.

If any one is really into their golf, TGC can also be played using real golf clubs.

Various golf launch monitors work with this game, but its expensive even just for the sim TGC software licence alone.

then of course you need a net and big enough space to hit in.

Apparently there is a golf club analyser which you attach to your clubs coming soon which allows you to play with real clubs and has sim TGC with 15 courses. Will be cheaper but obviously not as accurate as full blown camera/radar golf launch monitors.

This is cool. I thought that Links was dead a buried. Thanks.

I love golf games and fondly remember my dad and I playing for hours every night many years ago. I had a powerhouse PC(for the time) with the then new, geforce 4. Graphics were unbelievable for the time.
Sadly I haven't found a decent golf game on PC for some time. Jack Nicklaus Golf looks amazing but is so boring. Its reminiscent of the old Arnold Palmer pc game with great visuals and nothing else apart from playing a round on your own
I tried the golf club and was not impressed.
For favourite golf games i would say Tiger Woods Golf on the 360(always better graphics than ps3) And British Championship golf on pc from around 2000. The latter was so hard and only had two courses but it was really good with proper computer AI that understood the rules of golf. That game was way ahead of its time. EA never managed to implement that level of AI into their TW games
I tried Rory Mcilroy Golf on ps4 and it was unbelievably awful. I paid £54 on psn for that!!
So im still waiting for a great new gen golf game
