Hi all,

Whats the best Graphics card for "Age of Conan" AOC

Its for my wives PC, which is single slot PCI express. She has a ASUS EAH3650, which is fine for World of Warcraft, but doesn't cut the Mustard on AOC. I was thinking of ATI 4850. What do you think? Also whats the best 4850 price vs performance.

ive been speaking to 'chatbot' in AoC on Twilight Server, he says atm, the GTX's are really poor and the BEST overall with over 60fps with everything maxed out is the 4870, allthough im going for the GTX 260 cos i like the looks
 
I though ATI cards had major problems running AOC? Or has that been fixed recently? I didnt renew after my "free" 30 days but it would be quite unlike the devs to fix something important when they could be adjusting breast sizes.
 
Seen some benchmarks recently with 4870 and AOC. Looks like it's the best card to go for but if you can't stretch to one a 4850 will be an ample substitute.
 
AoC has been unplayable with my 4850's for the last couple of weeks until last thursdays patch. It now seems stable and nice and smooth.

Age Of Conan had major performance problems with ATI cards since launch, but then Nvidia performance also went south after a patch so they're about even now lol. :(

I didn't renew after my 30 days either, too many core features utterly broken or missing.
 
im running high, 1680x150, full view distance, cahcing 128meg ram, and full aniostropic filtering, getting between 30-80fps depedning on area, on my rig(in sig)!!
 
Just changed my ATI 1900XT to a 4850 at 1920x1200 on high I went from 9-11fps to 22-23fps in same areas..thats on a core 2 extremme @3.3ghz xp pro and 2gb mem.
Shame the card seems to be faulty I'm getting little green dots flickering all over the screen : ( even in windows...

So for my wives at 1600x1200 I hope a 4850 will be Ok, plus I am upping her ram to 4Gb

BTW on my PC: Q6600 OCed to 3.2Gz, plus 2x8800gt in sli, 4Gb ram, AOC is just playable at 1920x1200, which is a joke because even if it a damned good game (which it is IMO), its not graphically of the chart IMO. In fact I say its not as good graphically as say Oblivion which on my rig rocks.
