Best GPU for around £300?

I would have said the MSI Frozr IV 670. Seeing as it also gives CUDA support making for a better all round upgrade to the rig. That said the 7950s do come with a nice bundle of games which makes them very very tempting

The card billysielu has linked is better value for money. It's as fast as a gtx 670, has a higher onboard memory count and a great cooling solution. The gtx 670 from msi youv'e linked is rather expensive for virtually identical performance. Another thing that puts me off the reference cooled 670's is the poor cooler it's fitted with, gets rather noisy. I own a non reference gtx 670 wf from gigabyte, cracker of a card but again at a very high price.

Great value for money, and I'd certainly go for a 7950. Personally, I'd spend the extra for a Gigabyte 7950 WF as GB have better CS and a UK RMA centre should the worst occur.

As for a 670, I think they're a waste of money. I'm not sure why CUDA is being mentioned, it makes no difference unless the OP has a specific need for it. If the card is just for gaming, then the 7950 will be better.

NOTE: This is before the 7950 got a performance boost with drivers, making it equal to the 670 in BF3

7950 is the answer. It's a touch faster (overall) than a GTX 670 now and cheaper and with a better games package (IMO).

There's practically nothing between the 670 and 7950 though. The problem is that you can get a nice custom cooled model 7950 for less than a reference small PCB 670....
