Best GPU possible on a 450w PSU?

I have a GTX 750ti at the moment, which actually serves me quite well. But without upgrading my PSU (450w - good brand) do I have any options for a mid-range upgrade?

970 might be ok on 450w, might be pushing it though. If you're at 1080P a GTX 960 will be good and decent price. I've been using a 960 today @ 1440P and it's ok for medium / high settings. Quite surprised.

Decent decent PSU? As in gold/plat - seasonic/superflower?
If so, any single GPU. I've got the SF500W passive, ran basically every card this generation from it, with a 4790k.

I wouldn't even bother with a 960 personally.

Pick up a second-hand 670 for almost half the price and enjoy slightly more performance to boot.

If it's a good quality PSU, then any single-GPU card will be fine.

I run a 170w (rated) 560Ti on a Bronze 400w PSU. I'm sure I'm nowhere near the limit.

970 would be absolutely fine unless you have a heavily overclocked cpu as well. my 970 (overclocked at 1500/2000) averages about 300w under load with a stock i5 at the wall.

^ as above, my SLI gtx 670's only use 550watt for the entire system at the wall

long as it's a good brand psu you will be fine

I have a mini ITX office rig with a Silverstone SFX 450w supply.

It powers an i3 (35w), a GTX 570 (220w to 230w), and various fans, drives etc.

I will be changing to a 970 which will run at about 150w, saving me maybe 60 to 70w at max, so I would suggest that from experience a 970 will run very nice on a 450W supply, but does depend what else you will run on it.

450W here with a 3570K and GTX970. I think you'd be fine with any single GPU card, my previous one was a 290X. Still no issues.
