Best GPU Under £350? Can My PSU Handle A 7970 Ghz ?

Wow, thank you very very much for all the information! :D

I acknowledged everything that you all said and think I'm gonna go with a 7970 and OC it myself :D

I would go with the 770 (I really strongly considered it) but I'm gonna stick with team red for this because of the epic free games (I want all of the bundled games anyway), and better OpenCL performance, so I reckon that's the best path!

I'd rather get the 7970 than the 7950 because I'm not on a super tight budget, money isn't too much of an issue; and I definitely won't be doing CF (driver, heat, power, micro-stuttering issues... single cards FTW). I could probably stretch my budget into the low 600's but it seems that past the 7970/680 point cards kind of lose their bang per buck.

Cheers for all the help! :D

i just bought a gigabyte 7970 (reference GA-GV-R797D5-3GD-B)for £269.99 brand new from another retailer

Good choice, that's what i would have done.

If you get one of these (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-073-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938) they have a reputation for clocking up to and around 1250-1300 core and it doesn't matter what 7950 or 770 you put next to that it will beat them both.

Oh, good! :D Thanks for the link, looks good :D

I was looking at another 7970 that seems to be the rival of the one you posted, the Sapphire Vapor-X one, which is apparently more popular? If they're priced the same/if price is irrelevant which would you recommend?

Cheers,
Luke

They're both pretty good to be honest, can't really go wrong with either. Between the two id probably go with the Sapphire as it has some lights on the cooler at the top. :p

Hahaha, I'll go with the shiny one then :p

I didn't even see that it had lights on the cooler! I'll search it up on Youtube now :D

I'll definitely go with the Sapphire as I like shiny things XD

Thanks,
Luke

Yep I'm the same. Let us know how you get on with it.

I wrote a basic overclocking guide for AMD users as well so if you're unsure on what to do have a read through. :)
