Best GPU upgrade option for me? Please

Just wondering whats going to be my best option for my GPU upgrade, as dont want to overkill for what res I game at and it be a waste of money. Plus want the upgrade to last for future games.

I game on 24" 1920x1080 and am wanting a max out BF3 on ultra and any other games of sim spec for example new metro game coming soon. Now my 5850 1GB does a good job on BF3 but fancy a change soon.

The below i have read are all good cards.

ATI 6950 2GB
ATi 6970 2GB
Nvida 580 1.5GB
ATi 7970 3GB
ATi 7950 (wait for release and get that)

£400 ish max budget but the lower is always the better.

Wait for the release and then maybe ask the question again. Pricing might change a little. Who knows?.

probably the 1.5GiB 7950 - so wait to the end of the month - not sure if the 3GiB and 1.5GiB models both come out at the same time. 7970 is overkill for 1080p and out of budget - and the others will go EOL
