I find the best way to improve my work is through criticism from a group of people who will look at it differently and so a forum is perfect.

Looking for a forum that is quite busy, as friendly as possible and offers useful feedback.

Also, a well used GD/Chat section would be a bonus to get to know some of the members.

Normally, I would sign up to a few and see which one I end up staying with, but thought I'd see what you guys suggest. :)

Have you looked at the forums in Worth1000? They are a friendly and very talented bunch of people.

Hadn't, but will now. :) Ta.

I think you meant critique which has a slightly different meaning, you don't want people to criticise your work as thats usually a negative experiance, what you would want is a critique (crit) where you would generally expect people to give feedback.

To be honest I would be interested as I haven't see a place yet.

LOL, yep. :p

It's a shame people go to other forums when we could build a great section here!

I've noticed that this forum in particular is quite slow, even though I know we have a lot of talented creative people as regulars.

I would much rather stay here but there aren't enough people that actively comment, help and give feedback in the design/coding subforum here.

Perhaps something to renew interest? A monthly competition or something similar to the photography ones here?

So about a week on from first registering on DesignersTalk.com, I have found them to be very honest and very helpful. Some members even going as far as to mockup their ideas on how to improve your work.

Quite pleased with it. :)

I knew that was you on DT skippi!

Hope you find the par-migration over there useful, when you've been there a while you'll begin to realise the credibility of the wider opinions the people will give you. My advice: take their criticism and use it, and you'll get respect. Can see you're already doing fine though :p

Yup, have had to bite my tongue a couple of times though when I had just joined as they seem to think that any newbie that asks for help is just there to freeload. :p

But I've given my fair share of advice to others too and have taken theirs, and shown the results of what I've done with it. :)

Good forums they have there.

a thread like this compensates for every 1000 threads posted by dip****s who ask for help, ignore it and fail to progress beyond jnr MS paint artist. Great to skim over the previous posts and see how this has evolved - awesome stuff!

:p
