I managed to snap one of the blades on the fan of my Radeon 9800 pro, and now the fan keeps falling off. My computer is upside down as I write this...

Anyway, whats the best I can get for around £100?

Any suggestions appreciated

if your not going to use the pc for any straneous gaming i suggest you get an arctic cooler or other heatsink/fan combo for your 9800pro and stick to that unless the gfx card is totally dead.

if you want to go for a better card you can still sell on 9800pros for around 30 quid on members market

Good advice, how much faster is a 7600GT than a Radeon 9800 Pro (assuming you've got it overclocked a fair bit, as most of them can clock pretty darn well).

Pretty much all the 9800 Pro cards that were sold towards the last 9 months or so of its production used XT cores, so you can flash them to that and get a boost in speed, its a guaranteed flash for the extra speed the core provides as a base, but the card won't neccasarily be able to handle the default clocks of the card (but almost certainly will).

It's always so tempting to spend 'just a little bit more' for the next card up the ladder. In this case though i'd seriously think about it. Those 7900gs at that price look like a steal (especially if they overclock well) and it'll demolish a 7600gt.

7600gt is around 3 times faster than a 9800pro, possibly even more faster.
