I dont know much about graphics cards, accutly i dont know anything.

My budget is 200quid, whats simply the best gcard for this amount of money?

No matter what make etc etc.

The Connect3D Radeon X1800XT 256MB is only £152 on This Week Only here at OcUK and is faster, more reliable, and has better image quality (plus the ability to render HDR and antialiasing at the same time) than the 7900GT which is much more expensive. There's also the X1900XT 512MB at £235 but that's way over budget.

ATI prices are killer at the moment. :)

By the way; You might need to find out if you are using PCI, AGP, or PCI-E. That will be a huge factor.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Have to agree with the above, x1800 XT 256mb in the 'This Week Only', at that price it can't be touched, as it is the best card at that price, £152 is a pure bargain. :)

Oh, ok :o Thought you were upgrading & just wanted to make sure you have a PSU that is 'up-to-it' ;)

If December, I'm sure something will have taken the X1800XT place as a good price vs performance product :D

So?:

* ntel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper Threading
* 160Gb SATA 7200rpm Hard Disk Drive Upgradeable to 300Gb
* SATA300 Technology for Superfast Storage
* 512Mb DDR2 533Mhz memory Upgradeable to 2Gbyte
* PCI Express ATi Xpress X200 Graphics Engine
* PCI-Express16 Graphics Slot
* NEC 16x Dual Layer DVD Writer
* 56k Fax Modem
* Integrated 10/100 Network Card
* 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive
* 2.1 Logitech Speakers with Bass Box
* Wiress Multimedia Keyboard
* Wireless Optical Mouse for improved precision
* 4 USB 2.0 Ports

lollers at the blatant competitor link, rofl @ hp quoting it, omgahh!! at the hideousness of that computer and wtf @ a £250 computer calling itself a 'gaming' computer.

fini

RAM's a-bit low & no specific details on cruical bits like processor i.e. doesn't mean anything to just say 'Intel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper Threading' :confused:

Also WTF is 'SATA300 Technology for Superfast Storage'?

m8 why not build one yourself with parts from OcUK? I can't promise you that it will be that cheap, but it will be way better/faster/modern/etc (nor ugly :D ). See here & see how easy it it is :rolleyes:

Dunno if you'll still be able to get an x1800 come December as they were already stopped in January, mind you come that time the x1900 will be a bargain price then, as theres new cards coming out. :)

What PSU would you recommend?
Depends on spec of machine that you will build. But minimum Watts these days is 400 & not from just any manufacturer (see here why). Reputable ones are Tagan, FSP (Sparkle), Enermax, Seasonic & OCZ :cool:
