Hi, recently a friend of mine bought a graphics card a 2600pro. He says its performance is only getting the same fps as his 7300gt.

Considering hes ok to pay up to £60 i thought he could do a lot better. Would you say a 512mb 3650 would be more like it or an 8600gt?

Any other sugestions. I was thinking maybe an x1900 series card wouldnt be out of the qustion. even an x1800xt. I know all of those should get 60fps + the whole time.

So yeah share your thoughts, i think all the card i mentioned are better. But i have also thought that a 3650 wouldnt be that much better than a 2600 pro. But from hearing about this 2600pros performance maybe i was wrong.

First hand either 3650 or 8600gt will be a good boost, I think they are similar in performance. With the 8600gt, note that generally the 512 mb ones are GDDR2 ram against the GDddr3 of the 256mb ones. In this price bracket, the faster card with less memory is probably the better option.
Second hand an 1800xt is a very capable card. You can get them for silly money - I know becasue my fully boxed one went for about £30 inc delivery on an auction site. If your PSU is man enough, they're good cards, although I'd rather have something newer & far more power efficient.

I would go for second hand (or new) X1900XT/ XTX 512 or X1950XT/ XTX 512 and I have seen a new 7900GTX for 60
