Hoping you guys can help me... I'm looking to spend around £230 on a new card, I've got my heart set on a 6950 2GB which I'm hoping to unlock to a 6970, if it doesn't unlock, big whoop, but it would be nice.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what card I should buy? It must be 2GB and DX11 compatible.

I complete agree man, that's just the idea I went with. I've yet to tinker with my Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 TOXIC 2048MB but I'll let you know if it unlocks.

I've just noticed it's not showing as available on OCuk... have they stopped doing them?

I'm days away from ordering an entire new rig and the graphics card is proving my most head-scratching component. It seemed when I first started reading these forums merely 1 week ago it was the 560ti being touted as the best card in the 180-220 range but all of a sudden I'm seeing the 6950 2gb being recomended everywhere.

Only cause they are both so close in performance, depends who is giving the advice.

Either one would do you well.

Kind people on here have said to me lastweek that the new ATI's will be out early december,so that should drive the prices down on the 6950(hopes)
but im still tempeted to say sod it and just buy one now lol
but if i buy one now for £220 then they drop to about £180 then i will be ****ed lol

Hahaha. I'm in need of a new graphics card as soon as possible, don't have one in my rig at the moment and I don't have any onboard graphics; using my laptop for the time being.

Wait till December and buy a 7950 or 7970

If you get a 6950 now you'll be annoyed when the new cards are released. You could say 'well that's always the case' but the issue here is they 'could' only be one month away. That's not very long, and with ocuk getting less and less of the 6000 series cards it's even more likely they are just around the corner.

Sorry dude, I know you have money burning a hole in your pocket but just hang in there

same boat as you. got £250 ready to spend.
1month seems like a year waiting plus the chance of delays and all that crap makes me want to buy now

I would wait, but I don't have any spare graphics cards to use anymore as I've either gave them to a relative, or sold them.
